Defenceless under the night
Our world in stupor lies;
Yet, dotted everywhere,
Ironic points of light Flash out wherever the
Just Exchange their messages:
May I, composed like them Of Eros and of dust,
Beleaguered by the same Negation and despair,
Show an affirming flame.

The Liberator is the official publication of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. We are dedicated to giving students a voice; whether that be through the written word, through visual art, through photography, through journalism, music, or kindness. The portrait of an artist doesn’t have to be a young man, it can be anyone, it can be you—and the voice of an artist is certainly one of the best tools we have at our disposal if we want to enact change.
So be angry! Be loud, be funny, what have you. We’re always around yelling into the void somewhere. You can get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
